One of the things that we have found to be quite important when running an IT and Cloud-based business is the creation and maintenance of standard internal procedures. These are necessary for managing internal processes in the organization and are a best practice in any organization these days with the increased importance of compliance and accountability across all roles in a business.

Having some standard procedures for staff and partners to refer to is essential for many reasons, including:

  • Maintaining consistency in work and deliverance to customers
  • Maintaining quality accreditation across the board
  • Ensuring all staff are following the same best practices to manage the Cloud environment
  • Ensuring customers receive the same information no matter which staff member they’re speaking to

We create procedures for a variety of tasks, including internal storage procedures, external system bug fixes, marketing analytics procedures and more.

Here’s an example of one of our most recent internal procedures

At the beginning of the year, a UDP fix was applied to fix a bug in a previous Microsoft patch. Now that the bug has been appropriately fixed, many people want to reverse the UDP fix from the last patch. For this reason, we have created a clear and easy-to-follow procedure-

As you can see, a few essential parts to a successful procedure include the purpose, any prerequisites, the order of action to take and any other relevant procedures or documents.

Another helpful section to keep track of your document changes is a document manager section. Having a document manager in place shows the name of the person who created the document and which version it is currently up to. This helps you keep track of any updates by showing who made the updates and which version has the most current information.

Reach out to our team today if you have any questions about the procedure here or if you would like help getting some internal procedures started in your business!
