Let the technical experts at SMB Solutions help you make the change to working from home.

With the COVID-19 pandemic showing no signs of slowing down in Australia, it has become an apparent reality that most of us who can are now being urged to work from home. Expressions like social distancing, WFH (Working From Home) and self-isolation are all new terms that were never used in everyday life but people have shown how easy it can be to adapt to a different way of operating. Moving to a work-from-home environment can be stressful if you’re not prepared and if you haven’t got the right tools to make it work.

If you now find yourself in the position where you or your employees now have to work from home, there are a few things you can do to make your setup and your WFH life easier and stressfree.

Ensuring the right anti-virus software is installed and up to date on all of your devices

Most people have anti-virus software installed on their personal devices right? Unfortunately not! A lot of people make the mistake of installing their anti-virus software once but then never checking to ensure the subscription is still up to date and working in full effect, or they just never bothered to put it on them in the first place.

As an employer, you want to ensure your business data is safe from ransomware and hackers on all devices, and that now includes any employees that may be working from home on their own devices. Take the time now to check all staff have up to date anti-virus software if they’re using their own devices or if you have the resources, make sure your business devices are up to date and protected before allocating them to staff to take home.

Having your SAP Business One Cloud remote access setup and readily available

For our SMB Solutions Cloud Services customers and partners, accessing the cloud platform can be done from anywhere at any time. There are multiple ways to access your SAP Business One Cloud but here are the 2 easiest ways to access your workspace-

1) Through the WebClient – Accessing your SAP Business One through the SMB Solutions HTML5 WebClient can be done very easily and through any web browser. We have created a tutorial video on our YouTube Channel for you to watch or we have the written instructions on how to access the WebClient below.

Firstly open up your preferred web browser and type in the following address – https://gateway.smbsolutions.com.au/RDWeb/webclient/ – this will take you to the login screen you see below. Type in your login details (and don’t forget to add the SMBSOLUTIONS before your username!) and click Sign In when you’re ready.

Once you sign in it will take you to your Dashboard – my Dashboard (pictured below top) may look a little different to yours, but from here you select your SAP Business One SQL or HANA, whichever version you are using. Once you select your version it will take you through to your programs and file explorer (pictured below bottom). From here you can see the SAP Business One icon (2nd from right) and it’s as simple as clicking and logging in, plus entering in your 2FA if you have that notification set up.

If you’re still unsure how to access the WebClient after watching the video and reading these instructions please reach out to the SMB Solutions Support Team and we would be happy to help you through your initial WebClient login.

2) Setting up your RDP Feed or Remote Desktop Connection – If you are going to be using your SAP Business One Cloud application every day we recommend setting up your Remote Desktop Connection to make it easier to access and login. We have tutorial videos available on our YouTube Channel on how to set this up for both Windows Users and Mac Users, but for those who prefer written instructions please see the process mapped out below for Windows users.

Firstly you want to go to the Start bar and open your Control Panel from there. Inside the control panel, there is an option available for RemoteApp and Desktop Connections. Once you click inside the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections, if you don’t have any connections previously set up it will look like the top picture below. On the left side menu, you can then click Access RemoteApp and Desktops and type in the following address – https://gateway.smbsolutions.com.au – and click Next until it asks you to enter your credentials. Don’t forget when you add your login details to put SMBSOLUTIONS before your username!

Once you have logged in you will see the screen pictured below. From here you click the View Resources button and this will bring up all of your applications on your SMB Solutions Cloud platform including your SAP Business One application. What I recommend doing from here is right click your SAP Business One icon and select the option Pin to Taskbar – this will keep your SAP application icon readily available for your on your Taskbar at the bottom of the screen so it’s even easier to access every day.
