The SAP Upgrade Schedule for 2022 and what it means for you

2021 was a successful year for the team at SMB Solutions! We were able to invest even more into infrastructure upgrades and our SAP Business One Version 10 upgrade schedule ran smoothly – both providing more benefits to customers and partners.

We successfully migrated to SAP Business One Version 10 FP 2105 at the midpoint of last year as per our biannual SAP upgrade schedule policy, upgrading in August rather than July to ensure minimal disruption to the busy end of the financial year period.

What’s the plan for the 2022 SAP Upgrade Schedule?

2022 is shaping up to be another year of streamlined upgrades to both infrastructure and SAP Business One Version 10.

We plan to follow the same schedule as 2021, with the SAP Business One Version 10 FP2111 due to begin in February. The midpoint upgrade will occur again in August based on the current SAP Business One Version 10 Feature Pack available at that time.

What can you expect?

There are a lot of new features coming in the SAP Business One FP2111 and we would encourage all customers to talk to their SAP Partner about whether or not it makes sense to include the SAP Business One Web Client as part of their deployments.

The SAP Business One Web Client continues to be expanded and enhanced by SAP with additional core SAP Business One functions being delivered through the Web Client. However, you should be aware that if you are heavily reliant on add-ons or have significant customisations done with the Boyum Usability Package, these are not reflected in the Web Client. A good way of looking at it is that the more “vanilla” your deployment of SAP Business One is, the more likely the Web Client will work for you. You can find more information in this useful document link from SAP about What’s New in SAP Business One FP2111, version for SAP HANA.

An exciting year ahead!

Some of our partners and customers may have already noticed faster access to SAP Business One on a day to day basis and better performance in the Web Client. This is due to the state of the art hardware recently installed in our Sydney data centre location and soon to be installed in our Singapore data centre location.

Often, it is only noticeable when the system is slower and speed increases tend to be overlooked. SMB Solutions Cloud Services made an investment of a quarter of a million US dollars in our hardware upgrade for speed enhancements and we would appreciate any feedback that you have! Are you on our Australian and New Zealand network and noticed a change in performance? Get in touch and let us know – customer service and satisfaction are a high priority for us and we want to make sure our investment is worth it for you.
